Mills & Boom City slickers

City have played brilliant football so far but I think it's a little bit premature to compare them to Barcelona. You have to look at who they've come up against; they haven't really come up against any fearsome opposition so far. It's early days, but they are playing very well, they're free-scoring, and they're far more fluent than the City of last season under (Roberto) Mancini, so things are looking good.

There's still one or two issues defensively. Against Bolton they gave a couple of silly goals away, so they need to tighten up a bit and put that right if they're going to be challenging for the Premier League title. But I think they have a great chance, they's started fantastically well but I think there are tougher tests to come. They do have a lot of strength in depth and Mancini has a selection headache now. (Edin) Dzeko for example will wonder why he was left out at the weekend after scoring four times against Tottenham. OK, so you might say they rested him, but in his absence (Carlos) Tevez and especially (Sergio) Aguero have done well - then there's also David Silva - so it's going to be very difficult keeping all these players happy.

The Champions League is ultimately where the top players want to play - testing themselves against the best of the best - so it's not going to be easy for Mancini keeping all these players happy. That said, it's a very nice problem to have.
